Frédérique
St-Jean

A Montreal native, Frédérique St-Jean returns to Canada with an impressive collegiate resume and a reputation as a strong, composed defender.

Frédérique began her NCAA career at St. John’s University, where she played from 2020 to 2024. She made an immediate impact, scoring her first collegiate goal in March 2021 when she netted the overtime winner in a 1-0 victory over Villanova. After missing the 2022 season due to injury, Frédérique returned stronger, earning a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week in 2023.

Following her time at St. John’s, St-Jean moved to the University at Buffalo in 2024 for graduate studies and quickly established herself as one of the Mid-American Conference’s premier defenders. She earned First-Team All-MAC honours in both 2024 and 2025, while also receiving All-Midwest Region recognition in each season. In 2025, she was also named to the Academic All-District Team and earned Academic All-MAC honours.

Frédérique began her club career with CS Monteuil in 2018 before continuing her development with FC Laval in Ligue 1. Now back in Canada with Calgary Wild FC, she brings defensive strength, leadership, NCAA experience and a proven ability to contribute on set pieces to the Wild’s back line.

Frédérique is a big fan of pasta before the game. Before a game, she gets ready with a soundtrack featuring her favourite house and rap music. Off the pitch, she is passionate about supporting breast cancer initiatives and youth sports. And her treat of choice - anything chocolate is hard to beat.
