OUR STORY
Calgary Wild FC was founded to bring professional women's soccer to Calgary and inspire future generations of athletes.
It's about setting the stage where Canadian female athletes are celebrated and where their achievements can inspire the next generation of young players
As one of the six inaugural teams in the Northern Super League (NSL), we are proud to be part of Canada's first professional women's soccer league, providing homegrown talent with the opportunity to play at the highest level without leaving the country.
Our club is deeply rooted in Calgary's community and culture. Our branding, featuring an owl crest, symbolizes wisdom and strength, reflecting the city's spirit and our commitment to excellence. The team's colours, neon violet and red, represent Calgary's vibrant sunsets and the iconic Calgary Tower, respectively.
We believe in the power of sport to drive social change. By establishing Calgary Wild FC, we aim to create a sustainable future for women's sports in Canada, offering young women a clear pathway to professional soccer and empowering them to become leaders both on and off the pitch.

Lara Murphy
President & CEO
Honoured to be the first CEO of the Calgary Wild Women’s Football Club, Lara Murphy was born and raised in New Brunswick where she began playing soccer locally at six years old. Lara followed an athlete development pathway that led to a varsity career at Mount Allison University while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.
