MeggieDougherty Howard

Meggie Dougherty Howard brings extensive experience to Calgary’s centre midfield position, having played more than 10,000 minutes over the last eight seasons with four teams in the United States with the National Women’s Soccer League, most recently with Angel City FC. Meggie is the complete player. Comfortable with the ball, she can control the midfield with an extremely high passing and completion rate. Meggie began playing soccer at four years old. She knew playing professionally was a realistic possibility once she got to the college level and saw some stability in the NWSL.

Meggie's mother is her role model whom she always turns to for advice. She says her mom’s selflessness is a big reason she is successful. Her mom is one of her biggest supporters. On her off days, Meggie enjoys being outside when the weather is nice. She also enjoys sewing, resting, yoga, and watching a movie or a TV series.
