Calgary Wild FC is Calgary’s women’s professional soccer club and a proud competitor in the Northern Super League. Position Summary

The Stretcher Bearer plays a critical role in matchday medical operations by assisting with the safe and efficient transport of injured players from the field of play. This position supports the medical team in maintaining player safety during Calgary Wild FC Women’s professional soccer matches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the medical team with the safe removal of injured players from the field using approved stretcher and spinal immobilization techniques
  • Respond promptly and professionally to injury situations during matches
  • Follow direction from the Medical Lead or designated medical personnel
  • Ensure stretchers and related equipment are positioned correctly and handled safely
  • Maintain awareness of the match environment and prioritize player safety at all times
  • Represent the club and league in a professional and respectful manner on matchday

Training & Support

  • All stretcher bearers will receive mandatory training provided by the Calgary Wild FC Medical Team, including proper handling techniques, communication protocols, and emergency procedures
  • Ongoing guidance will be provided during match operations

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying weight as required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability on matchdays (evenings/weekends)
  • Previous experience in sports, first aid, healthcare, or event operations is an asset but not required

Commitment

  • Seasonal position for the duration of the Calgary Wild FC home match season (April - September)
  • Matchday role only (typically a few hours per game)
  • Required to arrive 75 minutes prior to kick-off for the pre-match team meeting and remain on site until medical coverage has concluded
