Position Summary

The Equipment Manager is responsible for the effective management, preparation, and maintenance of all team equipment and apparel, ensuring athletes and staff are consistently supported in a highperformance environment. This role oversees the full lifecycle of team-issued gear - from procurement and inventory control to daily setup, transport, and maintenance - ensuring all equipment is clean, functional, and compliant with league and club standards.

Reporting to the Director of Football Operations, the Equipment Manager plays a key role in both training and matchday operations by preparing locker rooms, technical areas, and required supplies, as well as coordinating logistics for home and away fixtures. The role also leads laundry and upkeep processes, maintains organized storage systems, and manages vendor relationships to ensure timely repairs, replacements, and ordering of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Apparel Management

  • Manage all team-issued gear including uniforms, training kits, footwear, and accessories
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and compliant with league standards
  • Prepare and customize player kits (sizing, numbering, branding)
  • Coordinate repairs and replacement of damaged or worn equipment

Inventory Control & Procurement

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment and supplies
  • Monitor usage, track losses, and manage equipment lifecycle
  • Order and receive equipment from approved vendors
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain organized storage areas

Training & Match Preparation

  • Set up and take down equipment for all training sessions
  • Prepare locker rooms, benches, and technical areas for matchdays
  • Ensure all required match equipment (kits, balls, medical supplies, hydration) is ready and compliant
  • Pack and transport equipment for home and away fixtures Team Travel Logistics
  • Coordinate equipment transportation for all team travel
  • Ensure timely delivery and proper handling of all gear
  • Manage packing lists and logistical checklists
  • Support overall travel operations as needed

Laundry & Maintenance Operations

  • Oversee daily laundry of training and match kits
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of locker rooms and equipment areas
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure all equipment meets league and competition regulations
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, safety, and organization
  • Adhere to club policies and branding guidelines

Collaboration & Communication

  • Reports to Director of Football Operations
  • Work closely with internal departments across the club
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers
  • Contribute positively to team culture and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Availability to travel with the team as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position in a high-performance sports environment
  • Physically demanding role involving lifting, carrying, and equipment setup
  • Fast-paced and time-sensitive work, particularly on matchdays and during travel

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in M365, SharePoint, One drive, Excel
  • Strong proficiency in budget and inventory management
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience in sports equipment management (preferred)
