2025 Season
Jackie Burns is a goalkeeper from Northern Ireland with over 50 caps with the national team, including representing Northern Ireland in the 2022 European Championship.
Growing up, Jackie played alongside boys until joining a female team at age 13. She moved to the United States at 18, where she played NCAA Division II soccer at Carson-Newman University (2016-18) and Lee University (2020-21). In her rookie season, she earned All-SAC second-team honours and broke the SAC record for shutouts in a season (14). In 2021, Jackie was named to the D2SIDA First Team All-American.
After her university career, Jackie played in Europe, where she won a league title with Glentoran. Her favourite memory is making her Women’s Super League debut for Reading FC. She also played for BK Häcken of the Swedish League, and most recently with Bristol City FC of the English Football League Championship before signing with Calgary Wild FC.
Did You Know… Jackie’s role models are her Northern Ireland teammates, Simone Magill (Rigby) and Sarah McFadden, who embody hard work and humility. Growing up near Jackie’s hometown and playing at a high level, Simone and Sarah continue to inspire her to push forward and keep striving for excellence … Before a match, Jackie prepares by listening to three songs in order: “If You Could See Me Now” by The Script, “This is Amazing Grace” by Phil Wickham,” and “Glorious” by Macklemore…On her off days, Jackie enjoys grabbing coffee, relaxing, going for a nature walk (also known as a God Walk), or spending time with dogs.
